July Recap - 4th of July Weekend

Recap By Rogue

Damn. We could not have asked for a better way to kick off the summer. July's edition of Brooklyn Took It was definitely a night to remember. The weather taunted us all day with heat, humidity, and eventually a brief thunderstorm. But a little thunderstorm didn't stop us from having a good time and it sure-as-hell didn't stop you either. You got ready with your crew and made your way to Friends and Lovers to dance your ass off anyway.

We wholeheartedly thank you for that.

This month, we had one of the illest DJs in New York, the incomparable J-Smoke from the world famous Allies Crew, who absolutely destroyed the dance floor, with his effortless flexing on the decks. If that weren't enough, Friends and Lovers was filled with incredibly talented DJs. This was definitely a night for the heads. Needless to say, in the midst of dancing, singing, laughing, and sweating, we were geeking-the-fuck-out the entire night.

We want to give a huge thank you and honorable mention to DJ Esquire, DJ Spictakular, Steve Hong, Anthwax, Twelve45, DJ Twin-T, DJ C-Dot, Mr. Tipton, DJ Stefane Be, DJ Seoul, and Big Brooklyn, just to name a few.

If you are one of the few who did not make it out to this installment... sorry to break it to ya, kid, but you definitely missed out. Don't do it to yourself again. Make your plans and mark your calendars NOW for the first Friday of every month. Trust that you do not want to miss this.

While you anxiously wait for the next installment of Brooklyn Took It, you can check out the footage from this evening, shot by our good friend, the man with a thousand hilarious anecdotes, Kevin Cappa Way.

See you August 5th.
